Autumn in (Old) England

Autumn has arrived in England. The brick houses in Oxford are covered in ivy of such a vibrant red that it almost hurts the eyes to gaze at their beauty for two long. In Cambridge, as the temperature drops and the rain falls incessantly, the punting company representatives are not as prevalent as in the summer. Usually college students with clipboards harassing passersby. They seem to be in competition to sell the most rides, and after a while even the most patient person may become tired of saying “no thank you.”
The colleges are no longer available to visitors, so pedestrians on the cobblestone avenues can hope for a glimpse at best of the immense central courtyards of the 33 colleges that make up Cambridge University. King’s College is the largest courtyard, and they have a chapel that is open to the public. An amazing experience is to listen to ‘Glorias’ by the St. John’s and King’s College choir while walking through the incredible cathedral. It is the largest college cathedral in Cambridge.
